The Sikh community held its first-ever Deewan at the Macedonian Community Hall in Batesford, marking the beginning of formal Sikh religious gatherings in the Geelong region.

Gurdwara Sahib Geelong
Gurdwara Sahib Geelong is a Sikh place of worship and community center located in Geelong, Victoria, Australia. It’s an important hub for the Sikh community in the region and also contributes to the wider multicultural society. The Gurdwara Sahib Geelong, specifically the “Sikh Community of Greater Geelong Inc.” (SCoGG), plays a significant role in the community by:
- Providing Religious Services: Offering regular services like weekly Diwan (congregation), Sunday Diwan, and daily Parkash/Nitnem, Asa Ki Var, Rehras Sahib, Kirtan, and Samapti. They also conduct special services like Sukhmani Saheb Path.
- Community Support: They run a community kitchen providing free meals and have been involved in helping the community during disasters like bushfires and COVID-19 by delivering free meals to those in need.
